Booking and Deposit
A 30% deposit is required to secure your tour dates. The remaining balance and payment arrangements will be confirmed when your booking is organised.
Every tour is customised, so the final itinerary and any additional costs can be discussed with you before arrangements are confirmed.

How much do multi-day tours in New Zealand cost?
Multi-day tour prices in New Zealand vary depending on group size, vehicle requirements, destinations, accommodation and activities. At Great North Tours, private guided transport is charged at a clear daily vehicle rate, with additional trip costs explained separately.
How much does a private North Island tour cost?
Our Mercedes Vito is $900 NZD per day and is recommended for 1 to 6 guests. Our Mercedes Sprinter is $1,200 NZD per day and is recommended for 7 to 11 guests.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Our daily touring rates are based on the vehicle rather than charging each guest separately. This makes it easier to understand the transport cost for a private group.
What is included in the cost of a private tour?
The daily rate includes your private vehicle, experienced driver-guide, up to 10 hours of service, fuel, toll roads and vehicle road user charges. We can also assist with planning accommodation, attractions, dining and other parts of your itinerary.

The total cost can depend on group size, the vehicle required, number of touring days, accommodation, attraction tickets, activities, meals and the destinations included in your itinerary.

When does Great North Tours start building the itinerary?
We begin building the itinerary after the 30% deposit has secured your dates. From there, we can work through destinations, activities, accommodation, dining and other arrangements around your plans.
Are accommodation and attraction tickets included in the daily rate?
Accommodation, attraction tickets, meals and other third-party costs are separate unless they are specifically included in your agreed itinerary. We can help organise these bookings for you.
Can I customize a multi-day North Island tour?
Yes. Your itinerary can be tailored around your interests, preferred destinations, available time and travel pace. You can choose the experiences you want rather than following a fixed group itinerary.
Can I book a multi-day New Zealand tour from Auckland or Hamilton?
Yes. Great North Tours can arrange private tours departing from Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua and other locations, depending on your itinerary and travel plans.
Is a private tour more expensive than a group tour?
Private and shared tours are structured differently, so prices cannot always be compared directly. A private tour gives your group its own vehicle, driver-guide and flexible itinerary, with the cost based on the vehicle rather than individual seats.
